Of 2001 een goed jaar was voor de metal moet je zelf maar beslissen, maar in ieder geval heeft het genoeg albums opgeleverd om een Top 10 van 2001 samen te kunnen stellen. Er werd massaal gereageerd op onze oproep om je top 5 in te sturen. Nu zijn de stemmen geteld, en uiteindelijk is het een nek aan nek race geworden, die door niemand gewonnen is. De twee bands die bovenaan staan kregen exact hetzelfde aantal punten, dus de gedeelde eerste plaats is voor After Forever en System Of A Down.
